Mindanao grid mimic board

Open a breaker and watch the load find another way round. A small power-flow model, solved in your browser on every click, on a seven-bus network named after the Northern Mindanao coast.

Interactive study. Plant and town names are real places; the loads, line ratings and layout are invented for this study. No live data, no backend.

Event log

    Breakers and lines

Each row is one line and its breaker. The last column is what would happen if that breaker alone opened right now, before any protection acts.

What the model does, and what it leaves out

    On every change

    1. Closed breakers split the network into islands. An island with no plant goes dead.
    2. Each island's plants share its load in proportion to capacity. If the plants are short, the island sheds load pro rata.
    3. A DC load flow (lossless lines, a fixed reactance per line) gives the MW on every closed line, compared with an invented rating.

    Left out

Voltage, reactive power, frequency, transients and relay timing. Closing a breaker never checks synchronism. The two transformers are drawn but not modelled. The topology is a simplified ring, not the NGCP network, and nothing here comes from a real feed.
